♠ come down in sheets で、まるで１枚のシートのように雨が降ってきている感じです。
I think the rain is going to clear up soon.
---雨はすぐにやむと思います。
Let's hope the rain holds off until then. ---その時まで雨が降りませんように。
♠ hold off で降りそうな雨が降らない。
当てにする
Count on me!
---ぼくもあてにしていいよ。（ぼくも数に入れておいて）
I count on you.
---あてにしてるよ。（あなたも数に入れてあるからね。）
You can count on him.
---彼はあてになるよ。
Can I count on you?
---あてにしていいの？
Don't bank on getting the promotion.
---昇給を当てにするなよ。
♠「Bank on」は何となく銀行関連と思われますが、「当てにする」で使えます。
他に「rely on」「depend on」「trust in」「look to」も後に名詞を従えて「当てにする」で使えます。
He is the best person to bank on.
---彼は当てになる人です。
I can't rely on your word.
---あなたの言葉は当てになりません。
アレルギー
I am allergic to eggs.
---私は卵アレルギーです。
I have an allergy to pollen.
---私は花粉アレルギーです。
I developed an allergy to pollen.
---私は花粉アレルギーになった。
I have hay fever.
---私は花粉症です。
♠ allergic 形容詞(adjective) と allergic 名詞(noun) の使い方を良く覚えましょう。be allergic to～, have an allergy to～です。 allergic rhinitis （アラルギー性鼻炎） allergic reaction （アレルギー反応）などもついでに覚えておきましょう。
愛好
I'm a bird lover.
---私は鳥愛好家です。
♠ birdの部分をmusicにすれば、音楽愛好家となんでも入れることが出来ます。

♠ fancierは、鳥・動物・植物に限定した愛好家を表し通常単独では使われず複合後にして使用される。

♠ learn by heartで、心で勉強する→暗記する。

♠ 問題というとquestionと考えてしまいますが、（特に, 解決の難しい）問題, 難問はproblemを使用します。

愛着

♠ attachmentは「添付書類」の他に「愛着」という意味があります。
